Using Peg Stamps

The technique used for this card can be applied to any peg stamp set design.

  1. First, choose the color inks you want to use. Starting with the background design you want ( Branch stems and leaves are used here) stamp these first then overlay with the rest of the stamps ( In this case it is the flowers).
  2. Holding the dowel with the guideline facing upward, ink the stamp and stamp once. Stamp again without reinking the stamp.
  3. Using the guideline on the side of the stamp once again, rotate the dowel 1/4 turn, ink the stamp and repeat the process of stamping and stamping a second time without reinking
  4. Continue in this manner until you have the desired look. Extra space can be filled in with another background stamp and color that is lighter such as the pale green vines in this photo. This time after the stamp was inked, it was first stamped on scrap paper and then stamped on the card. This gave a paler less pronounced effect.
  5. Play with your stamps and have fun!
